Dear parents and guardians, I am Dr. Rida El-Mehdawe and it is my great pleasure to introduce you to the curriculum of Windsor Ontario International School (WIS)
Windsor Ontario International School (WIS) will focus on child development with new contemporary ways of learning. We will implement a growth mindset where there will always be room to grow for both your children and our team. We plan on integrating technology and current events within our lessons so that your children are not just academically stimulated but also aware of their social surroundings.
Our Curriculum
We offer the Cambridge primary curriculum.
We offer quality education in the reach of every student thus a chance to succeed and discover their talents by inspiring, challenging and stimulating a better approach to learning. Our approach provides a diverse range of learning, enrichment and extra-curricular opportunities appropriate to each student’s unique stage of development, knowledge, skills and understanding.
We promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of students to build a firm foundation. We recognize each student as an individual with dreams, talents and capabilities to prepare them for later experiences in life.
Our curriculum is broad and balanced to provide each student with a holistic approach to physical, mental, emotional, and social growth. It is designed to enable students to acquire functional & permanent literacy, numeracy and communication skills. This helps stimulate the child to acquire knowledge and develop individual skills to instill the values of living and working cooperatively with others and caring for others in the community.
We produce high-achieving and confident students. We emphasize academic excellence, and throughout the year, students are assessed through class termly tests and examinations, which are both internal and external. Tests and assessments are reported to parents and feedback is equally given to students to help them improve.
Extra-curricular activities are organized in the form of afternoon clubs and outings.

Jolly Phonics uses a variety of activities, including songs, actions, and games, to make learning fun and engaging for children.
The program's multi-sensory approach appeals to different learning styles and motivates children.
Jolly Phonics also includes animated letter formation, word banks, and flashcards to support learning further.
3. Structured and Systematic:
Jolly Phonics follows a clear and systematic approach to teaching phonics, ensuring a structured and logical progression of learning.
The letter sounds are grouped into seven progressive learning groups, breaking down the complexity of the English language.
